Cogne, Italy - In the team sprint in Cogne, the Swedish men's team impressed, finishing third. "I'm super happy with Oskar's performance," said Calle Halfvarsson to Viaplay.
Halfvarsson and Oskar Svensson formed Sweden's top team in Italy, securing third place behind Norway and France.
"It was a tough race with a strong field. We did well to be up there," said Svensson.
Halfvarsson praised Svensson's strong final sprint:
"Oskar delivered at the end—I just held on. He handled it perfectly. I'm super pleased with his performance."
Sweden's second team, Måns Skoglund and Johan Häggström, finished seventh."Both Swedish teams did great. A step forward—it was fun to watch," said Viaplay expert Anna-Karin Strömstedt.
With the World Championships in Trondheim coming up in March, the team is optimistic:
"We’ve got great momentum now—we’ll keep building on it," said Svensson.
"This is just the start. We’re aiming even higher at the World Championships," added Halfvarsson.
